Car Key cutting and Programming
Car key cutting / reprogramming at a fraction of the cost of main dealers
In 1995 a new system was introduced and made law to reduce vehicle crime.
All cars produced and sold in the UK since then are legally required to be fitted with an immobiliser system. This requires a special transponder key with an embedded electronic chip.
When the key is turned in the ignition the code is read and the vehicle will only start if the correct code is received. Thomas Locksmith replace these electronic keys without having to refer to a main dealership.
Programming replacement & additional car transponder keys
A broken or lost transponder car key will result in the vehicle not starting upon turning the key in the ignition. Motorists who's transponder key stops working will require a new one. Some motorists also order and keep additional spare transponder keys to use should their existing key fail.
Thomas Locksmiths use highly sophisticated key programming equipment, which allows our locksmiths to program replacement transponder keys for most makes of vehicle either on-site or at one of our branches.
You no longer have to pay ridiculously high main dealer prices for the basic task of programming a simple chip. Furthermore, if you need an additional car immobiliser then call Thomas Locksmiths today and save yourself a fortune.
Key duplication is available at our Hove & Burgess Hill branches.
